Scotto!! Absolutely loving this piece so far man- particularly where you're going with the temperature shifts and that elephant and dude are looking great! I'd be careful not to make the house and elephant too equal in size, but I'm only just learning composition so i could be wrong on that. Anywayyysss look forward to seeing it finished!
Rodzo! :) Thanks so much man. This is a prelim drawing for the final oil, but I do want to retain that very muted, subdued palette and I'll try to retain the subtle temp shifts as well. I've been preoccupied with temperature shifts for awhile - so many possibilities.
Thank you for the crit on the composition. I think you are right - I've been having a bit of difficulty with the size of the elements - so I will definitely be careful when hitting the final painting. Thanks again dude!

Clo! Thanks so much for dropping by and leaving a comment :) I guess you can say I am always daydreaming - and many images come from that. Sometimes - an entire image will come to me suddenly -I could be doing anything. I think the key is to just leave myself open to that part of my brain that produces imagery. The tricky part is to edit out the weak ideas , and stick with the ones that really resonate with me. This probably makes no sense -I need my coffee! Thanks again :)

Curious- I don't think there are any direct influences in this piece to me that stand out. The concept was mostly conceived through stream of consciousness sketching and a good amount of daydreaming. I have been looking at quite a bit of Justin Mortimer and Ruprecht Von Kauffman paintings lately , so perhaps they have had an influence.
