12.03.08 - The return to life-drawing
I used to monitor a life-drawing class every Monday night, which was a terrific way for me to keep on top of my life studies. Life and work got too busy, and I had to abandon the monitor position. What used to be a guaranteed weekly drawing session , turned into a year and a half without any life drawing. I've been really determined to change this.
On Nov. 22nd, I made the jump back into life drawing at the very popular Dr.Sketchy's with model MOSH.
It felt great to get back into it. I was definitely slower and my lines lacked confidence, but overall I didn't feel I lost too many beats while I'd been away.
Here are the 2, 20 minute poses from the session. The other sketches are just some fun things I've done in the last few weeks.

we recently got a Dr. Sketchy's, here in Dallas. It so much fun! You're work is very inspiring.
Awesome sketches, man! Yeah Dr Sketchy's! I've been TRYING to get to the one out in Philly lately but always forget when their sessions are and need someone to come with me to enjoy the good times to be had. haha.
hope all is goin well man, that last sketch is really rad.
great drawings Scott!
Love 'em all, but the old man reading is a beauty.
And Dr. Sketchy's looks outrageous! No idea something like this was out there. Saw you in the one of the photos and was like, hey, it's a taller and sexah-ier Toulouse-Lautrec.
Man I wish we had that here..Maybe I'll sneak into the local burlesque...(was that Andrea Kaplan in one of the photos from the site?) Amazing drawings!
but of course i love your style
so awesome
Wonderful drawing and wonderful blog too!! Regards
Good pencils!
Oh wow. everything is spooky and sweet.
Time away from life drawing is no fun, its only been a few months since i last did any life drawing and i already suspect a part of my brain is turning to mush.
