Here's a cover I did for "The Selfish Giant" being published by Oxford University Press. It may be a while before I can show the interiors since publish date may be a bit away.

I'm also posting the sketch they didn't go for, but I strongly prefer it. At least it can now exist on this blog.

Thanks for checking in- I'll try to update soon.-S.

aw man I totally dig the sketch too
feels much more dynamic!
(not that the original isn't good, it's painted wonderfully!)

hope you're doing well!

Great cover Scott. Love the giant's expression and it's beautifully done all around. I do like that sketch too, though. The giant seems more giant and the angle's more interesting but I can see why they went that way for a cover...

Nice!

Nice work Scott!

I'm with Nigel. The cool angle works better for an interior.

Still the one you took to finish is gorgeous. A great hero shot.

Really awesome design Scott. Its so interesting to see that great, bone-crushing jaw of the giant with a large grin stretching ear to ear - makes me want to read the story.

On yeah, one more thing - congrats on your pieces in Spectrum. I just got my copy and your stuff looks so great.

I love this! Such a nice little image. :) I really like the sketch composition more than the one they chose, too.... it has so much more character and interesting qualities to it. Thanks for sharing, dude :)
